Abogarse, founded in 1965, specialises in the management and processing of municipal solid waste (MSW) at the Montemarta Cónica facility in Seville. It currently undertakes the transfer, transport, recycling and assessment and final disposal in a controlled landfill of waste for 45 municipalities in the area, including the city of Seville. That represents a total population of 1.5 million people and 700,000 tonnes per year. The Montemarta Cónica facility consists of 200 hectares occupied by various plants for the processing of waste, leachates and biogas, with all of the environmental and planning permits necessary for its activity.
Aborgase’s vision is to continue moving forwards with the management model for developing the circular economy at its facility, as well as transferring knowledge and experience to other countries where European environmental standards are beginning to be implemented.
GSA provides environmental services such as transport and transfer, collection, environmental construction work and earth moving, landfill management and processing of all kinds of municipal and hospital waste, sludges, glass, construction and demolition waste and garden pruning. With a staff of more than 100 workers, GSA has a complete fleet of machinery for public works, transport elements and its own installations. It also participates in different businesses related to waste management and assessment.
The group is made up of an in-house team of engineers and environmental scientists, with many years’ experience in environmental and waste management techniques, among others. That knowledge makes GSA a company capable of conducting its own projects in those areas, or projects for third parties, and it has the reputation to attract the many opportunities that are going to be created in the sector, supported both by public initiatives, such as the circular economy and the Green Deal, and by the growing awareness of sustainability among companies and consumers.
